DeepSeek V4 API Allegedly Uses Fable 5 Model

A whistleblower known as Leo has raised concerns that the official API of DeepSeek V4 Pro is delegating some complex programming requests to Claude Fable 5, potentially for model distillation. Testers generated 3D games using OpenCode, and some results were highly similar to Fable 5, indicating a change in reasoning methods. After incorporating cybersecurity and biological issues, the quality of the games declined, and the knowledge scope reverted to the original level of DeepSeek. This testing utilized the real mechanisms of Fable 5, with Anthropic routing some cybersecurity, biological, and distillation requests to Opus 4.8. Testers suspect that requests are first sent to Fable 5 before reverting back to DeepSeek. Currently, the evidence only indicates abnormal API behavior and does not confirm the actual respondent or prove that the outputs entered the training data; mixed prompts, undisclosed updates, or routing within DeepSeek's own model could all lead to similar discrepancies.
