Exodus Cuts 25% of Workforce in Restructuring
Cryptocurrency company Exodus (NYSE American: EXOD) announced layoffs affecting about 25% of its global workforce. The decision reflects a shift in focus towards the payments sector and aims to adapt the cost structure to the current macroeconomic landscape. The strategy includes building an integrated card issuance platform and completing the merger with two previously acquired companies. JP Richardson, the CEO, described the layoffs as difficult due to the talent of the affected professionals and expressed gratitude for their contributions. The company will offer severance packages and transition support to former employees. The goal is to develop a practical financial environment for customers, turning interest in cryptocurrencies into agile solutions. The personnel cuts are expected to generate expenses between $2.5 million and $3.5 million, including severance and taxes. Management projects an annual cash savings of between $10 million and $13 million post-restructuring, with a total impact for investors expected by 2027.
