Fairshake Associates PAC Spending Over $986,000 to Support Michigan Democratic Primary

Fairshake's affiliated organization, Protect Progress PAC, has reported to the Federal Election Commission that it has spent over $986,000 as of Tuesday to support incumbent Democratic Congressman Shri Thanedar in Michigan's 13th Congressional District, opposing challenger Donavan McKinney. The spending occurred two weeks before the Democratic primary on August 4, which will determine the candidates for the November election. Protect Progress PAC had previously spent around $1 million in 2024 to support Thanedar, who received 54.9% of the vote in the Democratic primary that year and 68.6% in the November election. Fairshake and its affiliates report having $191 million in reserves to influence key elections. Other politically active committees related to the cryptocurrency industry include Fellowship, supported by Cantor Fitzgerald and Anchorage Digital, and the Blockchain Leadership Fund, backed by Anchorage and Chainlink Labs. Protect Progress PAC has also spent over $100,000 to support Arizona Congressman Greg Stanton's re-election. Defend American Jobs PAC has spent over $65,000 to support Republican candidate Amanda McKinney in Washington's 4th Congressional District.
