HSBC Warns Retail Investors as Market Pace Accelerates, Impacting Long-Term Holding Strategies
HSBC's Chief Multi-Asset Strategist, Max Kettner, has warned retail investors that the market pace is accelerating, and merely being optimistic about the long-term prospects of artificial intelligence is insufficient to cope with the short-term volatility of related stocks. Kettner pointed out that the trend towards short-termism in the market has significantly intensified over the past two years, with investors' judgment cycles shrinking from the original three to six months to sometimes being completed within a week. He emphasized that technical indicators, market positioning, and capital flows are increasingly influencing short-term prices, which may not necessarily align with the fundamentals of companies. The biggest challenge facing ordinary investors is adapting to the constantly changing trading rhythm surrounding the theme of artificial intelligence.
