NXTT Authorized to Sell or Mortgage Approximately 5,833 Bitcoins Worth About $449 Million
Next Technology Holding (NXTT) has authorized the phased sale or mortgage of approximately 5,833 bitcoins, valued at about $449 million. Considerations include the Binance hacking incident, exchange vulnerabilities, and the potential threat of quantum computing to Bitcoin's cryptography. The company's bitcoins are not stored on Binance. CEO Weihong Liu will decide the timing, price, and scale of the transactions. The authorization covers sales on exchanges, privately negotiated transactions, and financing secured by bitcoins, but there is no guarantee that the transactions will be completed. Most of the bitcoins come from the acquisition of 5,000 bitcoins in March 2025, with a total transaction price of $158.1 million, equivalent to about $31,600 per bitcoin.
