Baidu Plans to Disclose Progress in World Model Development, Potentially for Autonomous Driving
Baidu plans to disclose the research and development progress and results of its world model in the near future. The world model is one of the hot topics in the current AI field, focusing on modeling and predicting physical environments. If this model is used for autonomous driving, it will enhance prediction and decision-making capabilities in complex scenarios, providing support for the large-scale deployment of driverless cars. Over the past year or two, Baidu's autonomous driving service, Luobo Kuaipao, has covered 28 cities worldwide and accumulated a significant amount of real road data. Baidu continues to strategically position itself in the field of embodied intelligence, serving over 50 key enterprises in the industry chain, including the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, Zhiyuan, Xinghai Map, and Yushu. The specific applications of this model and its relationship with Luobo Kuaipao remain unclear, and Baidu had not commented by the time of publication.
