The chairman of the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), Otto Lobo, stated that the regulatory infrastructure of Brazil's capital markets needs a mandatory transformation towards a fully tokenized model, supported by an AI-based monitoring mechanism. This push for regulatory modernization stems from a ruling by the Federal Supreme Court of Brazil (ADC 7791) and related recommendations from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Under these arrangements, the CVM will be allowed to retain 70% of the regulatory fees it collects.
